Yep, the turbo was definatly designed for the application. The T Series in the Rover was almost the next step up in design, having a 16 valve head it will breathe better but had a fairly small turbo too. It ran modulated boost from 6psi to 11.7psi in 200PS format. Strangely, the peak torque of 174 lb ft @ 2100rpm was about the same as the Activa
I guess this shows the strength of an 8 valve engine. It does have much better potential than people realise.

Nope, I would go bigger turbo and proper management, uprated injectors and so on. The head will flow quite well it has big valves and being turbocharged its not so crtical. I would also be looking at better intercooler and different exhaust manifold. But the purpose of this exercise is to improve power without taking away the character of the engine and keep the ' stealth' appeal.
