NEC Classic Car Show

Post by CitroJim »

Anyone planning to go? Looks like the CCC will have a good stand there.

I'll be going but not decided on which day yet.

Perhaps a small meet can be planned...

Ill be there, got it booked this week. :D

Im driving down on the friday evening, spending the saturday morning in the classic car show and then MPH show on the evening with a 6.30 show viewing. Then ill be back in the classic show on the sunday before driving back home.

This will be the fifth year running ive been, to the MPH show also, a great weekend. Last year we exhibited our 6 wheeler on the CCC stand. Would have liked to have a car there again this year but we have not got it ready again yet. Its also a few days off work to take it too.

But ill be having a good look around the CCC stand and probably be hanging around for a short while.

Going down in the red Xm, so if you see it in the car park, thats me

As a "by the way" From what ive read on the CCC site Citroen are bringing over 3 prototype cars from France. The original one eyed 2CV, The car concept that eventually became the Ami 6 and the concept that became the CX. Im sure there is another one too :? :)

I think an exchange of mobile numbers may be necessary here.

It'll be good to finally meet you Chris after the TWO CCC meets where we must have unwittingly walked passed each other several times

It would be even better if it worked out that we all parked next to each other too!

Im really interested to seeing the CX prototype. From what I have heard, the story of actually putting the CX into production was very clever and slightly underhand :D

Yes that might be an idea :)

It would be very nice to meet some FCF members at last. I bet i will have seen you at some of the events this year but not known who you are. I almost came over at the stratford event on the saturday but didnt pluck up the courage to introduce myself :?

There should be 4 of us going down for the show, all being well i might have a Xantia by that time :) Otherwise it shall be the red Xm.

Parking together would be nice, though we would have to meet up outside and drive in together, as they point you into the spaces.

Mobile numbers will be a must definately.

Meeting up outside will depend on what time people want to get there i suppose. What time are people planning to arrive on the sunday?

I plan on getting down early as its a long way from up here and in the past i have always ended up takingthe kids and the usual "can we go home now dad" rings out after about an hour or so...this year im taking my time 8)

Are there any services or easy to find places to meet up round there?
