C5 auto lights question

Unread post by rabenson »

Hi,

Is it possible to adjust the level of light at which the auto lights come on on a C5? I find that the system waits until it's darker than I would like (most other cars have had their lights on for some time) before it turns them on.

Any ideas?

Thanks

Not that I'm aware of, unfortunately. I'm no expert with a Lexia but I haven't seen anything in the menus to adjust the threshold but I'd love to be proved wrong.

I'm lucky with mine - it's one of the few auto devices that works properly on my car. The only time it seems to get caught out is when the change to darkness is very slow.

Mine is slow to light up and slow to switch off. Sometimes I've even got to turn on the sidelights manually.

Mine are on more than they are off which is fine by me.

Ah well, looks like there's no simple combination of stalk manipulation or button bushing in the accessory position to sort out my problem.... :?

No worries - at least my auto wipers are now behaving themselves after fitting a genuine citroen passenger side wiper in place of the halfords special! :D

Thanks,

I like the auto lights, very good idea. Mine seem to come one at around the right time, sometimes i turn them on to sidelights first as headlights is a bit much some times.

However i dont like the fact they come on with the auto wipers. When they do so many fast wipes it puts the headlights on. Sometimes this is a good thing but usually its not needed. Driving through patchy weather and they are on and off all the time. So again i usually just put them to sidelights.

Not aware that the time/dusk sensor can be changed though.

My experience is that the threshold at which the lights come on is reduced when the wipers are on, not that they simply come on and that's it.

Again, on my car they seem to do it at just about what I consider to be right.

They are supposed to come on after four sweeps of the wipers.

Hi I have a slightly different slant to this , My lights come on at the right level of darkness but sometimes the dash lights come on as well and can also go off whilst the lights stay on , is there a sensor which measures the darkness inside the car. Hmmmm weird. John.

I often find in the morning that I'm driving the only car with its headlights on, i..e. sometimes the automatic lights come on when its not really dark enough for them to be on. In the evenings, they seem to come on at around the right level of darkness.
