Another alternative would be to fit either a PARROT MKi9200 or MKi9100 and take advantage of a hard wired Bluetooth phone kit as well, having poked around the net these kits can be purchased for between £120- £150.
I have the Parrot CK3100 which works a treat but I'm now quite tempted to upgrade the kit in my estate to the 9200 mantioned above.

Am I right in thinking you have a flip down cover for the radio?
I'm sure he said it was a blaupunkt, but not one many of us had seen before.

Yes it has the drop down cover.
How much should I pay s/h for a 'Citroen Xantia Radio' with code and input?

To my knowledge, and hopefully someone will say I'm wrong, MK2 Xantias are not compatible with MK1 blaupunkts (ie the radios with the jack), so you can't just get a 3030/4030 etc and plug it in to have it work with the wheel buttons.
You appear to have a strange radio, which from another thread seems to be a blaupunkt.
I can take the blaupunkt out of my LX and send/bring it to you to try, in theory the wheel buttons won't work, but the radio should as it's got normal ISO connectors on the back.
Or you could look at an after market head unit which can handle remote buttons and get the adaptor.

I'll definitely like to drop by your way in say a couple of weeks, Jim is up there too, I believe. That'd be something to look forward to. Thanks.
I'm waiting for a parts order to arrive, before I fix the xantia for an MOT, and find a name for the him.

That ebay radio will be from a MK1

That one is a 3030 from a series 1 and therefore not compatable with the steeering controls on a S2, if you're going to go the S1 route get a 4030 as they have a much higher output and produce a far better sound.

Ahh, yes, I forgot I used to have a MK2 Activa when I wrote my reply Xac See what matrix replacements does to the old brainXac wrote: I do believe back in 2007 you had your MK2 Activa Jim, just like Juliet, with a Clarion sans jack?
John, yes do pop up our way, you're assured of a very warm welcome as long as it has nothing to do with heater matrixes!!!!!

Ahh, that'll be tea leaves if it's Jim, I suspected so. Cool. 8)although Jim makes a nicer cup of tea
Ok thanks for that Xac.

Thanks Jim. I hope you're getting an easy spacious time this weekend... I was tempted 3 years back for nice green matrix-shot estate £250.00, meeting the guy by chance in a car park by me.
I wanted it, that desire saying pounce now. I knew I'd look good in it, and it'd suit me for the drive and use, i liked its lines, its attitude: I believed it to be harder than the BX matrix which was bad enough for stiff necks and sharp metal in closed spaces, unafraid though I killed fear on the spot, but the wind was biting cold, my hands frozen, I was cleaned up with my children, and I only wanted to drive, so stuck with the BX , (quite satisfied), thinking later... the devil you know...and got back in the car and drove on imagining I was smoking a pipe. (I also thought I don't deserve that trouble right now 8) ).
I'll have to take the right precautions with my cooling flush, and am armed with notes from FCF posts - new rad £40.00! from buyparts..., this one is seeping..got to better than some rad stop. I'm going to revise those notes here on antifreeze concoctions and make my mind up...

That's interesting Dickie..I'm going to take a look.

I got a Blaupunkt from the scrappie with an input socket last month. It's pleasing. Not so very loud with an iphone, unless turned up high... the radio blasts on if I switch modes. Had to get rid of the nice dropdown cover though.
I could turn up the iphone more, but it drains the batteries faster. It is possible to have all the songs volume raised in itunes, by bulk selection and selecting options in information. BUt it's OK as it is really.
Talking of cheap rubbish, I got a very nice piece of rubbish for a car socket charger. It was held together by the safety sticker. Came from China via Hong Kong and ebay, that interesting trade route that Marco Polo never wrote about.
