The composite impeller pumps are not necessarily poor and were fitted as OE on many vehicles including BMW's. Of course if you can find a metal impeller one for similar money then you lean in that direction
On the specific subject of cheaper "Circoli" pumps which appear to Italian, here is an excerpt from the Saab owners forum on the ECP Circoli pumps.
I think that I will go the eurocarparts route because you guys seem to trust them. However, they list two waterpumps suitable for my car. One is a Circoli (£21) and the other is KWP(£36).
Now, going on the theory the the dearest is not always the best, have you guys got any particular preference?

Hi,
I used the cheaper one on my '97 CS. It worked fine but I think the difference in price reflects the difference between a plastic impeller vs a metal impeller (which is closer to the original Saab part). My guess is the plastic one is good for 50-75K while the original one on my car failed at 140K.
Your local GSF will be able to get an OE make pump for that model. We may have only one listed, but ask them to check Webcat for an OE make like Ruville, and check price and availability with Kam / Kirsty. They will know what that means. We can get hold of alot more than most branches realise
Bear in mind though that the recommended timing belt change is between 50 and 70K miles so the pump doesnt need to last for ever as it get changed when that gets done
