Juliet needs a new rear box, and Eurocarparts have quoted me £100 for it, while the cheapest I've found with a quick search (including new clamp and mounts) is £82.
Anyone know of a cheaper source?

Used but not rusty, a few years left in it easy. I kept it when my new backbox was fitted as a good spare.Xac wrote:What state is it in?XantiaMan583 wrote:You can have the old one off mine for £25 if you want it.

Well I went under Juliet this evening and pulled off the old exhaust.
Danielle spotted straight away on the NS of it was a whopping big hole!
So I fitted the one Gareth gave me at the CCC which is in very good condition.
Slight problem though when I tried to mate it up with the pipe.
There's a healthy gap of a few cm which if I push hard reduces down to about 5mm but it might as well be a mile.
Any ideas?
The two silencers are obviously different, Gareth's cylinder is longer whereas the rusty one has a longer mating tube, but side by side from the end pipe end to mating tube end they're the same length, so it looks like either it's the mounting pegs are at the wrong angle or the rubber bits are too short.
Should I try bending the arms back?

Bend the pegs.... I'm sure that is what an exhaust place would do anyway. They are often a bugger to fit, even if they are the right part!

It's no good, it just won't fit.
The mating pipe is so short on the exhaust the crossbar and other car body parts prevent it moving far enough forward to connect to the main pipe.
Here's a pic showing the differences between the two.

You can see the hole in the old one too!
This is frustrating www.onlineautomotive.co.uk says that it's the right one, the code on the outside matches.

I think I'll pop over to the local exhaust place and have a chat with them for ideas, maybe they can do something.
By the looks of it the centre exhaust is newish, so that may have been replaced with the wrong one.
