Xantia pressure regulator and rear height regulator - advice

Hi Guys

My specialist advised that I have small weep from both the front pressure regulator and rear heigth regulator.

The front pressure regulator has been weeping for a while. I guess I will have to replace both - where is the best place to buy them (Pleides??) who offer a reconditioned part for what seems to be a really good price - or is it better to go for new

Any comments from previous experience greatly appreciated.
I have a mk 2 V reg Xantia estate.

I've just had my V6 pressure regulator refurbished by Pleiades because it was leaking from the end quite badly. It's not really a DIY job.

Pleiades will also re-calibrate the regulator during the rebuild to set the correct cut-in and cut-out pressures. The springs weaken over time.

They should also be able to refurbish your height corrector too. Whereabouts is it leaking from?

Pleiades do a really fantastic job, the items will even have a new coat of paint as part of the refurbish

Thanks for your reply - you have confirmed what I was thinking! I will have to request parts from Pleiades and then send them mine once the local specialist has done the job.

I will get in touch with them next week and get things moving.

are you sure the leak at the regulator is not just a damaged sphere seal, if so this is a very easy fix, remove acumalator sphere fit new seal, smear the matting surface with citro blood (LHM) screw sphere back on,

hight corrector's usualy very seldom leak, it is usualy the short rubber pipe attatched at the top perishes and splits, this is a 5 to 10 minn job to fix,

the only other time i have seen a hight corector leak is when someone had been levering against its dust seal and in turn crushed the edge of the diaphragm which is inside the dust cover,

these to are very easy to repair and you can buy all the parts

I am off to see the specialist tomorrow and will have a look with him when the car is on the ramp. I don't want to start messing around with height regulators for obvious reasons. I will make sure it is not the pipe as you suggest.

Thanks for your reply - I guess these things start to go after 147K miles. I can't complain as the car is still driving really well.

the hight correctors them selfs very seldom give any trouble at all, as its usualy the H/C mountting bracket/linkage that suffers seizing up, it is very easy to remove a H/C without the bracket,

and just removeing the H/C dose not alter the ride hights in the slightest

I second Malcolm there, theres not really anything in the height correctors to go wrong. If it does turn out to be the linkage that is playing up (well worth giving a clean anyway) that can also be removed without having to reset the automatic ride height settings. I reckon that the linkage could also be removed without taking off the actual height corrector, Malcolm?

im sure it can but it is quite fiddely to hook it back in the right place even with the hole kit and cabudal on the bench,

the usual fault with the H/C its self is it gets clogged up with sludge

also Kev Nigel's fault is a leak at some point around/near the rear H/C
