Whilst trying on my new anorak on Tuesday evening, I decided to record a programme called 'The French Connection' on the M&M channel.
The programme was about the history of Citroen and its cars.
The presenter (Chris Goffey) showed an Activa and he said, "The best handling car I think i've ever driven, super cars included. This is my tip for a future classic."
I was so excited I called my wife & kids to come and look at the telly programme.
The wife was so excited she called the men in white coats.
I will repeat the presenters quote to my wife the next time I throw more money at my car.

Apparently Jon Bentley, yes the guy from the Gadget Show, has also tried an Activa and loved it, he's a presenter now, but previously was behind the scenes on motoring programmes, check out the credits at the end of old episodes of Fifth Gear, Top Gear, amongst others!

Re: Men & Motors
Yes I have seen this, and it's very interesting on the history etc, although it could be more detailed at the end on recent models, therefore a longer programme, or a two parter might have been better!anybloodybody wrote:Whilst trying on my new anorak on Tuesday evening, I decided to record a programme called 'The French Connection' on the M&M channel.

Hello Ross_k,
How big is the file... too big for email ?
Maybe it's time to venture into the world of YouTube. Do you know how to cut the video up and just post the ACTIVA bit. I don't know..but I bet someone here does.
It would be very useful to show the other half why I still have my ACTIVA.

Ah,Ross_K wrote:Well Jim you'll be happy to know I found the disk eventually. I'd recorded it on my DVD recorder so it's in mpeg format (thought I had it in avi...). Drop a PM with your address and I'll bung it in the post at some stage during the week.
BTW here's a screencap of the Conservatoire's Activa:
Nice picture!

Yes I noticed that too!KP wrote:And even back then they put the balancer weights on the outside of the wheels!!
I made sure when I had some tyres changed recently, that the weights were stick on, and placed inside, out of the way as it's better that way, and I don't want a alloy wheel outer surface damaged by the clip which tends to rust, and cause issues with tyre bead seating, or the dull crappy lead which does not match the alloy rim, and collects muck, and causes damage to the alloy finish!
