PAS Pump Failure Symptoms

Post by addo »

Yep - you guessed it - Paris again. I'm wondering if the pump is past it's best.

What are typical signs that an 18 year old PAS pump is on the way out? Do they load up the motor unevenly?

There is no appreciable fluid loss, or metallic noise, but the pulley is clearly skidding on the belt.

Glad to see my irreverence gets the comebacks and topic sprawl it deserves.

I will be replacing the belt - got a Dayco 545mm one - PSA specify 530mm and the present unit is 560mm (currently at the end of tensioner slot). Waiting for the liquid sunshine to dry out a little.

Regards, Adam.
