As probably my last job on my Dad's Xantia before I pack my bags for the rainy UK I fitted a new pair of rear suspension spheres and anti-sink sphere.
Imagine my surprise when I opened the boxes and found not green, but grey spheres
Well, not grey as such, more a kind of metalic gray/silver colour, similar to C5 spheres. No, they're not C5 spheres, they're exactly the same shape as a conventional green sphere, and look the same in every other way.
Strangly, two of the spheres had a matt finish and the third had a highly glossy coating on it - a lot like clear coat over car paint.
I wonder why they're a different colour now, and does it signify anything ? Or are they just trying to save money by using one colour of paint for all their spheres ?
Another difference was instead of the usual aluminium cap over the thread of the sphere (which I never liked) it now has a rather dinky threaded rubber bung screwed onto the thread.
Anyone else seen these new spheres ? They're genuine Citroen spheres ordered through Citroen agents...
Regards,
Simon
