The suspension gods

Unread post by vince »

Just wanted to say a BIG THANKS to both Jim and Richard for discovering that my VSX has been stuck in hard mode since i bought it...and that must have been about a year ago now   Honestly i thought it rode soft enough :P

After a quick ELIT and Lexia diagnosis, a spare diode "fix it"kit was sourced from Jim's boot :) and then fitted.

Also discovered was that the plug for the rear hydroactive diode valve thingy was unplugged. Back at Jim's this was replugged in and hey presto the system sprang back into life 8)

On the way home on the M1 every time i went over a big undulation in the road a smile came on my face as the car blancmanged its way through it  I love this thing even more now

I owe you one boys

It was good to see you today vince :D
Glad to hear that nothing was up with the rear electrovalve! That really is strange how it came to be unplugged...
If anything happened to my current Xant, its replacement would have to a be VSX for the extra comfort and semi-activeness 8)

Vince,

Absolutely delighted it's all good now :D Just a shame we couldn't fix the tacho

Colin, good luck with the MOT. I'm hoping to take the V6 for its MOT later this week so I too can enjoy a proper Hydractive car!

Do I take it that you tried another pick up sensor? Do you think its the rev counter?

It was good to meet everybody too... :)

Richard it does seem to be the sensor, Jim ran a quick test on it and it came up duff. Andy then turned up at Jims and had one in his boot off a donor car. When we looked at mine though it had a different one on. Mine has the longer one that dissappears down behind the engine
Never mind, i will ID it at work tomorrow and try to get hold of one. Also i need to get a vapor hose i think they are listed as at Citroen...(breather hose) so i can get my valve cover gasket changed and paint up the cover

Definately was bump hunting on the way home

i dont think they now this was ok as one of the electrovalve repair kits from Brian Primmer was fitted first before the rear valve was reconected

but it is good to here its all systems go on the susp side of things now Vince
