That particular one is from 8) combemarshal a regular contributor to Activa net.

Shame he appears to be selling it.

I hope he places a card about Activanet & the French Car Forum in it, so the new owner can get in touch. 8)

Hi,

Thought people might be interested in my Activa and how I came to own it. I bought it off ebay for £150 :D last September. I bought it on impulse to save it from the Peugeot fate as I knew they were getting rare. I picked it up from St Andrews and drove it back to West Yorks and was completely bowled over by it so ended up keeping it.

So if anyone remembers seeing this on ebay last year, don't worry its in good hands!

Its a silver Mk1 and has both A/C and sunroof. Its mileage is fairly low at 88k and the engine is sweet. Some issues with the suspension which I'll have to get sorted. All in all though, the biggest bargain in history and a MUCH better car than C4 coupe I had 'til last year.

My only real issue is the interior. Its actually in really good order but the upholstery reminds me of an old British Rail commuter train! So I'm on the lookout for a leather interior.

WAINY.

  Indeed, I can see where you're coming from Wainy! You will find leahter a big improvement. All my fleet except the 1.9TD (which is on permanant loan) have leather and I'd not have a car without it now. Keep looking and a set will show up and remember you don't necesarily need a set of MK1 leather as a set of MK2 leathers will fit perfectly as long as you have the MK2 seatbelts. My 2.1TD is a MK1 with MK2 leathers in it. I did a detailed post on upgrading to leather ages ago and search and ye shall find!

Good on you for rescuing an Activa from a potential Pug death! they're addicttive :D

And finally, a warm but belated welcome to this little forum of ours :D

Green Activa for sale on eBay

Post by wainy »

Hi,

There's an Activa appeared on eBay. Nice looking late Mk1 Green Activa in Nottingham. Auction finishes on 5th April at 19:48.

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/1998-CITROEN-XANT ... 240%3A1318

93k miles, lots of tax and test and nice condition apart from a big crack in the screen. £350 starting bid and no bids yet.

Its a shame Citroen often used fussy interior trims, mainly in later 90s cars. The Saxo, Xsara, Xantia all suffered with 'granny sofa' like fabric!

If only we had HDi Activas over here, i know what my current daily car would have been, and it wouldnt be the C5!

Has anyone any idea if anyone has ever imported one?

Was it the standard HDi 110? Or bigger? I suppose a 110 HDi Activa with a remap and some tuning, in a lightish Xantia would be pretty good.

One for sale on Autotrader. Quite near me too (it's in Bolton) - I'd be going for a look if I didn't have one already!

Link

It's a 1999 T-reg, in blue, 93k, £445. Wonder what the catch is :?:

For such a late one that is cheap!

Looks like it would require a good check over, to see if it has any issues!

Reg was V369GND.

Anyone we know ?

The Activa holds its price much better in France.
Two high milers on ebay.fr at the moment.
MK1's with plenty of miles and both asking over 3000 Euros (£2½ grand)

I suppose the same could have happened in the U.K. if they had publicized the car more, and offered the full engine range, and dropped the price a bit, then more people would have known about it, and therefore the car would have been more in demand, hence the resale price would be higher.

As it is the Activa is like a secret, a well kept secret!

Its value is underrated, or even unknown, amongst most people, and with the Activa dispatchers  about the limited numbers, are getting less!

Don't you sometimes wish you were french? no me neither, but I'd love them, especially the silver one, looks like the ultimate xantia.

The silver one's nice alright - pity the steering wheel's on the wrong side.
