Post by scott8629 »

Hi all this is my first post on Andyspares so Hi to all of you!
I have been offerd a 205 TD with the 405 1.9TD engine in it.
A few questions lads:
Whats this conversion like?
Are they quite quick?
Good on fuel as its a car for work?
Any other thoughts will be apprecieted

Went to see this car.
I was in good nick apart from the odd scratch.
One thing bugged me though, the rev guage did not work, I asked him why, and he replied its because it has a different fly wheel??
Anyone know how to fix this?
So we agreed on a price and he is going to get it MOTed.
Looking forward to getting it.

A sensor reads a notch in the flywheel to give a reading. Lots of advice in the forum archive on this, they're notoriously unreliable.
I bet the 1.9 a tight squeeze in the engine bay. The standard 1.7 td is a snug fit as it is.
With 78 bhp the 1.7 goes a bomb, and handles too. Your 1.9 should fly.
