Discs and Pads

Unread post by KP »

Right im going to replace all the discs and pads on my car as im tired of the squeeking from the rear so that means the calipers are coming off as well to sort that out but most likely means the discs and pads there are scrap, adn the fronts are getting low so i'd rather replace the lot in one go though its going to be a very busy time doing it all in one go so will likely split it across 2 evenings.

I think the fronts are the same as the 2.1td for discs and pads, but do they need to be wound back as my previous xantias have done?

Also the rears, are they the same for all hatch's??

GSF do decent enough prices but some from ebay seem quite cheap, specially for rears as a kit. Anyone ever bought the rear kits off ebay?

Cool just ordered discs and pads from GSF doncaster with FrenchCarForum discount :D and got the pads from a citroen dealer on ebay for £19 delivered and genuine as well so all good :)

Looked on ebay but there are no cheapish sets for the rear anymore which is a shame as at one point you could get them for £20 delivered and £45 for fronts but guess not anymore.
Gsf was cheapest even without discount and they are so local the tiny bit of petrol i use is more than made up for in good service, even better for them when you give them the part numbers, just wish Vince worked in my local so i could get more discount

It's a shame we can't clone Vince and have him in every GSF Branch

Speaking of GSF Brances, I so wish we had one in Milton Keynes  Against that though, their mail order is second to none in my experience.

yes it is from the branch i had problems with certain items that could not be sent by post as one time the guy in the Belfast branch phoned me to say he had recieved an online order to be delivered to me as opposed to posting it out ,so i said shall i just ring you direct and the reply was yes thats fine but dont just be ordering a spark plug :)
Max greenwood ordered a pile of stuff for his bx prior to landing on my doorstep for some repairs and he rang from dublin ,items here same day
I still use my local motor factors for some bits and pieces but would usually ring gsf for a price first and then do the old "how much its cheaper at gsf" even though it might not be  its amazing what you can get knocked off :D
