Breaking Activa on Ebay ?

Why break a "near mint" car

The only Xantia hatch with the 2.0i Turbo was the Activa so yes, if he has the right engine it is...

Whilst it will fit they are a different shape, if you want a rear bumper for a MK1 I've got a good one you can have for free but its emerald green.

picking up the mk2 activa today, rear bumper is a bit scuffed and missing the towing eye cover.
It's not possible to replace the bonnet, grill and front bumper from a mk1 on the mk2 is it?

I think you can but you'll also need the headlights, indicators, fog lights and bonnet shut panel.

Hi folks, don't think I've posted on here before, signed up to help my brother look for one but he never bothered in the end.

I just put the number plate of that Xantia into the Auto Trader registration checker (go onto main auto trader page, down a bit, it's on the left!) and it says it is an activa!

Shame to see one broken for spares, but should be useful for you chaps on here.

Its a shame, although its been a while since i last saw one up for breaking.

Hopefuilly its parts will go onto other Activas to keep them running, i always hate seeing good cars being broken, but i suppose it does help others.

I wonder what the reason was behind breaking it, i hope its not a good one, being broken to get more money than its worth resale!

Hi,

I've bought some parts off this car........ same colour as my car so I've bought most of the body panels. I asked the seller why it's being scrapped. His answer was that it failed its MOT with very expensive hydraulic problems but couldn't elaborate. Presume this means problems with the rams?

I'm picking up the parts on Sat so will let people know what else is worth having if I manage to see the car itself. Shame to lose what seems like a potentially decent car though.

By the way, I also asked if he would sell the car complete and he wouldn't.

nets him more money for his pocket.

Which will be all that bothers him, and not the rarity of the car he is Activ(ely) dispatching.

Hi,

I picked up parts from this car on Sat. I can confirm that it is indeed a late Mk1 Activa and looks like it was in pretty decent nick prior to scrapping

. I've had all the panels except the hatch. I reckon there's still quite a few parts worth having on it.

On a cursory examination, the engine looks really good but haven't heard it running. But signs are good that it was looked after (clean oil, very clean on the outside, no leaks).

Alloys average condition but have brand new tyres on them. He wants £100 for the wheels and tyres. Tyres aren't a make I've heard of though! However, the spare is a Michelin and is perfect....... think it may be original equipment but don't quote me on it.

Interior is Geneva cloth and REALLY

good but get there soon if you want it as it is open to the elements now. Not much collapse on the driver's cushion even.

Looks like both rams have leaks

All in all it was very saveable. Very confusing actually as the tyres, like I said, are new as was the exhaust (which I also bought). So WHY WAS IT SCRAPPED?

You've answered your own question there, two new rams = £700 roughly the value of the car or possibly more then its value.
