Identifying HDi BHP JUST from Reg plate

Hi all..

Is there a site were I can find out an Engine BHp JUST From the Reg of the car??

Car in question is a Xantia HDi, on a V 1999, the seller does not know what bhp the engine is.. but I got the reg.. so can I put the Reg into a web site or similar and find out what engine it has..

Look at the VIN..

RHY = 90bhp
RHZ = 110bhp

Also, the 110 has an extra pipe between the engine and the airbox running from down the front of the engine (from intercooler) to the rear and down the back of the engine (to the turbo)

As far as I'm aware there isn't really a way you can tell by the reg as mine comes up as a 90bhp on some of them yet it is 100% a 110bhp

I know the obvious! But the seller doesn't and is hard to get hold of, my parents had a W reg HDi, that came up as a 90, but it was DEFFO a 110 with the twin pipes...

My apologies, I assumed you weren't familiar with the differences

As you say, the checks that can be performed on the registration mark are not always reliable. I did do a brief search for something similar to what you're when I bought mine but nothing came up.

Phone up your local Citroen dealer - the spares dept always ask for the reg no these days...

Its sorted guys, managed to get a pic out of him, its a 90bhp unfortunally

Im after a 110bhp, cheap as possible, damaged, WHY?? Condition not important it will be for a Conversion project...
