Just a Quick Question

Unread post by Ross »

Evening all - I have to sort my sons suspension as a Bank Holiday weekend treat - - I have worked on a Xantia VSX before with a sport setting but this one is a VX without the sport setting - I am also a bit confused about the Hydroactive title - simple question is how many rear spheres does a 1996 1.9TD VX have ? - is it one per wheel and one in the middle ?
Thanks
Ross

Hi Ross,

A VX? Never heard of one of those before :?

A Hydractive car will have a total count of four spheres at the back, two corners, Hydractive Centre and Anti-Sink. The Hydractive Sphere will be attached to a sphere block with an electrovalve and two thick pipes going to the suspension cylinders.

Non-hydractive cars will reduce this sphere count by one and the dead gve-away alwas is the tiickness of the pipes going to the suspension cylinders. thin on a non-Hydractive and thick on a Hydractive.

I don't know about the Xantia 'SX' but I wouldn't have thought it would have had anti sink so probably only two spheres at the back - make sure you get the right ones!

Unless the car sat around for a couple of years prior to registration a 96 Xantia will have anti-sink.
