Citroen M35 / GS Birotor

Hi, im new

Im trying to find out if there are any Citroen M35's or GS Birotor's, still fitted with the original Comotor engine, anywhere in the UK.
Does anyone know?

There are a couple of GS Birotors owned within members of the CCC.

Stann Plattes in Bradford used to have a G BIROTOR and a spare engine in the kittchen under the counter

Im pleasantly surprised that there are some in the UK.
Do you have any idea how i might be able to contact these owners? do they frequent any forums, for example?

Welcome to the forum Norton

It's remarkable there are any Birotors here as they were all supposed to have been crushed by Citroen I believe. I'm delighted some escaped that fate

I like the GS in general and the Birotor is something magical.

That's a good website you have there

I'd forgotten all about the Norton Rotary and remember better the Suzuki RE5.

Do you run anything else rotary like an Ro80 or a Mazda of any sort?

Sttan is the CX man in the CCC (citroen car club) it statesin the club mag to ring after 6 pm or weekends i will pm you his phone No.

i hered a few years ago that it was NORTON fixed the rotory engine's over heatting problems

I seem to recall Andrew Brodie of Brodie Engineering in London (ebay cxi220?)
of Sm expertise fame had a Birotor in mint stock standard condition in the
early 90's. Being a GS addict, I still rue the day I decided not to buy one in
France before they became better known, desirable and consequently very
expensive!!

Even the brochure is a work of art very much like the Sm version.

Jim, I have dozens of G's but unfortunately none are Birotors. They're almost
a hybrid between a GS and a Cx as it shares many items of suspension from
it's bigger brother.

Hi, yes i have a Norton and a Mazda.
Rotaries seem to make a habit of escaping the crusher, the Prototype twin rotor Chevrolet Corvette was supposed to be crushed but turned up in a crate in the storage area on the roof of Bedford Trucks in Luton!! Its now owned by a Vette specialist in Snodland, Kent.
I believe that Citroen went bankrupt as a result of their involvement with the rotary and it certainly spelt the end for NSU with whom Citroen formed Comotor.
Did you know that the Comotor engine was used in a motorcycle? The Van Veen OCR1000.
