02 xsara 110 handbrake on discs

If whilst moving i lift the handbrake until i feel a slight pressure the lever moves up and down slightly. This is worse on a bumpy road. Last week i stopped and applied the handbrake as usual but when my two rear seat passengers got out the car rolled forwards and the lever would then pull up another 3 notches. Is it a faulty cable and are they difficult to fit?

I would say pads are worn , I had this on my xsara wife went out to unload car as she slammed boot down , Car rolled forware she grabed hold of it and shouted , had to pull handbrake up another few notches , checked pads well worn

Sorry i'm late getting back. The pads are new. Cables seem ok . Anyone else had this problem
