Electric GS

Unread post by ekaftan »

I don't know if I did post here abount my evil plan to convert a 1978 GS to electric power. Anyway, I am really close and wanted to show you how I solved the hydraulic pump problem...

The story and pictures are in my blog... http://ev.nn.cl/lang-pref/en/

Crikey I admire your dedication, will the pump drain much battery power?

That's quite a project ekaftan.
Best of luck with it.
What inspired you to go down that path?

I wanted an electric car. I studied for around a year before settling in the tried and true method of a DC series motor.

I love Citroens, and I selected the GS because its cheap, parts are plentyful and has a good empy-weight to max gross weight space to put batteries in, and this one was avaliable for US$800 (very, very cheap car in Chile) and was complete and kind of rust free.
