My Old Activa

Unread post by f00lzz »

Hi.
You might want to see this.. I only had it for three weeks, got it from David Hiam's in Birmingham, it was an ex-demonstator and the gearbox failed (no 3rd gear) Of course I wasn't particularly interested in keeping it so it was 'returned' and had an ex-demonstator XM estate V6 instead.. brilliant car. It wasn't untill 1997 that I got a 'proper' Xantia, a 3.0 V6.

 That's an odd failure on a new or near new gearbox?

The V6 Xm estate could very well be the most useful estate you'd ever want!
And rare too - what happened to it!? Guess it was an auto as virtually every
Xm V6 was/is?

A brilliant motor... didn't realise/appreciate how brilliant till I got rid... someone clicked for a beautiful car.
I used to drive from Birmingham to Portsmouth... load the back with presstools and drive back to Brum without noticing they were onboard. Only fault... no! hold on ... there weren't any.

  Very possibly! I think a very strong bond will develop between the V6 and I after I've got her back on the road. I've taken on some challanges in my time but this is the greatest so far...

I now know exactly the meaning of "Access is poor..."
