Lost my keys and no spare

Good afternoon folks!
Right, I have lost the key to my Xantia. I have no spare key

I have to move the Xantia as its outside the cottage we are moving into today. What's the easiest window to replace if I have to resort to smashing one

wedge the drivers door at the top enough to get something in there to pull up the lock?

then once in at least you can move back and forward... ?

Door bending,
I agree that the front door can be bent a bit.

if you can use a metal coat hanger straighten it out and bend the bottom 3" back on itself and then at 135'degree angle and it should be just strong enough to pull the lock up, you have to be carefull as it does require a good amount of pull that could bend the coat hanger easily. Failing that its an AA job not to bash the window in.
If it were me i'd go for a rear drivers side window to smash as less needed.

Is there any mileage in drilling a lock rather than smashing windows or bending doors?

If it's dead locked, you still won't be able to open the door if you bend it / smash the window.... And if you haven't got a key then you will only be able to move it in a straight line (or a curve if the steering is not set ahead). Keep looking for the key? If you go for window smashing, cover the window in sellotape or similar first, that way you can take all the glass out without it going everywhere.....

Try a trolley jack under the front subframe to roll the car?

Taking all suitable precautions into a ccount slope, sliding off jack etc?

Any point smashing the window if you don't have a key to get it going?

How old is your Xantia? If it doesn't have a transponder immobiliser, a plain non-plip key from a stealer is cheap enough these days.

Probably cheaper than smashing a window if you don't have windscreen cover.

Thankfully i dont deadlock my car so i would have a slight chance of getting in, but the alarm would go off and the steering would be locked so it wouldnt help me if it was my xantia, does yours have an alarm?

If it does i would phone your breakdown, there wont be alot you can do, unless you can quickly pop the bonnet and disconnect it

Rather than smash windows or bend doors try the 'Professional way' by using a 'Slim Jim' down the side of the window between the rubber seal at the bottom of the window. To make a 'Slim Jim' either find a flat/thin piece of metal (alternatively use a hack saw blade) and file a hook shape into a corner to allow the tool to hook onto the rod linking the key to the lock.

I decided not to smash any windows at this time. we managed to work around the Xantia for today. I think the keys may be in the snow somewhere. The doors are deadlocked too, so another reason to see if the keys turn up.

Can't use the VIN off your registration docos, to get a key cut and coded in?

The cut key will open the doors, and unlock the ignition at least.

A quick update...

The keys were found

Woo hoo

They turned up in the step daughters (she is 23) bedroom for some unknown reason (She had taken my car keys and house keys from the key dish in my bedroom).
After me driving off to the the new house (in my beloveds motor) and raking the snow for an hour, and having to struggle around the Xantia with furniture later in the day, for some reason I felt a bit annoyed

Anyway, back driving the car and keep the keys away from you know who!
Off to the cottage in a mo, still no phone line there
