Dead Xantia

Post by Gregg1100 »

Hi,
Apart from a clattering idler wheel on serpentine belt, a duff (or more) heater plug, air in brake system, wet front footwell ( not matrix ), the radiator has decided to let go in a big way. And as tax is out, I have driven the car into my garden and SORNED it. Idler wheel and heater plugs received from GSF last week. More bloody car work :( .
Still got the auto Punto to fly around in, and if that dies too, a last resort is the bike. Woe is me. ](*,)

Shame you're not this side of the Severn or I could have given you a hand :(
Regarding the windscreen, do you think that it maybe the scuttle sealant coming away from the windscreen? Either way it looks like a partial interior strip do dry it out.

Hi Kev,
Thanks for your kind offer.
I have seen water drops on wrong side of door sill--so probably someone has had the door card off and not resealed the plastic membrane. My sons n/s footwell was wet too, and not resealed either.
I won't go the scrappy way with a radiator--will get a new one from GSF, or whoever is cheaper :D . As it is off the road, I will try and get some jobs done on it asap.

Think of it as a project Greg

I have a V6 like that. Lots of odd little jobs needing doing on it plus of course, one very major one

Good luck with the "project" Greg.

I think CJ is right with that description project is the right word.

I also project, that I will be doing more work on my "project" when the current lovely  weather allows!
