405 radiator drain and bleed screws

Post by SteveP »

405 1.6 1993
The radiator drain and bleed screws can be turned through 1/4 turn anti-clockwise to open them, then they seem to hit a stop. Is there any way of removing them completely? (without breaking anything!) Nothing comes out when the drain plug is turned, it must be blocked on the inside. if I could get the plug out I could clear the blockage with a piece of wire.

Try giving it a quarter turn then a pull.

Thanks John. Pulling on the plug at the same time as continuing to turn anticlockwise past the quarter turn did the trick and nothing broke.
