Want to buy a Activa rear ram bush at a sensible price??

Unread post by DickieG »

A very good friend of mine is popping over to the continent in the near future and will be investigating the possibility of sourcing a substantial number of Activa rear ram bush's as the UK price has leapt up to an eyewatering £177.55

Now the big question is, provided he can get them for a reasonable price say £30ish how many bush's should he buy? Alternatively what if the price is say £50 each etc?

As such if anyone is genuinely interested in this offer can you let me know asap, how many at what price etc.

Nice to see the adjustment for VAT has been made...

Yes, £30 bushes would obviously be very appealing compared to the silly
price Citroen has these on offer for. It's outright offensive - shouldn't it
be £17.75? If finances permit, and it's at the 30 end rather than the 50,
I'll buy several - would this get a bulk discount or trade price too? How
imminent are we talking, I've got a V6 as well as an Activa mouth to feed! ;)

What are they listed at in the rest of the world. An invoice for a £30 one
may be enough to tie to a brick and chuck through CitUK's HQ front window...

send a nice clear message to the Prat's Department? OK, seriously, wouldn't
that get the price reviewed by someone in a position to give a sh!t there if
such a person exists.

Sorry to put a damper on your thread Dickie, but the price in Europe is the same, in Euros equivalent, as it is here!

I had already been down that avenue last year, when the pound/euro exchange was favourable. There is not even a pattern part available, not that I would want one for such a badly designed piece of junk. Citroen really got this one wrong.

I am finalizing a newly designed replacement and am just waiting for some confirmations on design registration, before I sort making them in earnest.

Any progress on your R&D?

I'm driving the family to France in August, and I could do with getting rid of the knocking before I go.

Or has anyone got the dimensions for the rear ram bush?
At the worse, I could get a local engineer to lathe a bush out of poly or nylon.
