Hi people out there. Can anyone give me any help with instructions how to remove the starter motor from a Renault Scenic? I had to have it recovered from London on December 22nd, because the solenoid had jammed, and completely burnt out. I have the new starter waiting (thanks to GSF car Parts) for very prompt service over the holiday.
I've been out since 8am this morning, and almost going mad. Managed to undo the three securing bolts and pull it away from the flywheel, but no way can I see a way to actually remove the starter from it's location. There is just no room around it. Great design that one Renault!! Might look great in the design stage, but as a service part, how the hell do you get it out?
Is there a knack to it. Really grateful for any replies, because the garage is an expense I can ill afford at the moment. I'm normally pretty good around tools and cars, so not afraid of the work involved, but this is one is proving a real pig to solve.
