xantia no lights
hi all of a sudden all of my lights are failing to work, brake & indicaters work but no side/main lights any ideas please thanks

Hello Rummins, if it is a Xantia, it cannot be a VTS, unless some monkey has been doin' badge swapping.
I think you will need to look at the feed wire to the ignition switch that supplies the lights. Look at some of the recent posts as a number of other Xantia owners have experienced the same problems.
Have you checked the fuses? That is usually a good starting point. Chances are, if they are blown, you have a short in the circuit.
The Mk1 Xantias all had the lighting feeds through the ignition switch, with contacts that were not man enough to take the power, especially if you have upgraded the lamp output. It is easy enough to fit relays to the headlamps and then use the switch to control the relays. Gives the switch a much easier and longer life. That's assuming the contacts are not completely burnt.

Then the wiring loom shroud at the bottom rear of the radiator may have the openings at the top, to let the water and rot in.its a phase1
