veg oil conversion Xantia on Ebay

this looks a little bit of a "Heath Robinson",conversion , putting the new Derv in the plastic tank in the boot and all the waste oil in the tank

The boot tank appears to be held in place with a ratchet strap ? how much would a "profesional conversion" like this set you back ???

A bit pointless these days, when SVO is now more expensive than diesel and WVO isnt as freely available, ans also, the XUD will quite happily run high amounts of veg anyway without twin tanking.

I run 100% SVO (from costco it's around 77ppl).
Wouldn't touch WVO though.

The only WVO i would use is the stuff i have sourced and filtered myself.

That "tank" in the boot looks very poor and not only that, it takes up so much space

If I were an MOT tester, it would not get a pass.

I'll be the car stinks of diesel...

Totally pointless when these cars will run happily on SVO and good WVO with no need of twin-tanking.

Waste of time really. Better to stick to 95% veg(SVO/WVO) and some proper diesel.

That kind of kit is only of use for Lucas and other veg unfriendly pumps where its installed correctly as well...

It'll kill a Lucas pump too, even if twin-tanked. They are so fragile it's just not true

Shame as fundamentally, they're excellent pumps and blow the socks off a Bosch in starting, power, running and economy.

I'm a big fan of them actually....

I have a dead Lucas pump on my bench right now that died on a diet of bio-diesel

As soon as my finger has healed I'll do an examination on it and find out what killed it. Dare not whilst I have broken skin

That tank looks ropey as anything. I'm surprised plastic fuel tanks are allowed in a car boot.

At least its not just me being over critical here

If i'd put my car in for dual fuel conversion , spent £1100 and that was the end result, i would be "non too chuffed" to say the least

I can't see the components costing a lot , a 25 ltr "fuel tank" is about £5 +Vat from any builders merchants, there must be a hell of a mark-up on this and the rest of the stuff

You would need to drive a hell of a lot of miles to get that 'conversion' to pay for itself before you started making any actual savings.
£1100 would buy an awful lot of diesel!
I have only spent £1640 since March '07. - 1560 Litres.

So they've made £3300 on Xants alone with their "Blue Peter" yoghurt pot and sticky back plastic kits !!!!

Seems like i'm in the wrong trade
