From the listing..................
Citroen Xantia Activa 2 Litre turbo. This car was subject to an attempted TWOC which resulted in a broken rear offside window carriage, broken immobiliser & radio. It is, however, a good runner & in need of a pair of front tyres & new battery. Very tidy throughout & with owners manual & part service history, we would rather see it go to a good home than to sit rotting. Anyone prepared to spend a little time & money (& I am sure it wouldn't be much) can have a lot of car for very little outlay or maybe you have one for spares or vice versa.
TWOC an activity carried out by TW#*S!

Yes, that is a rare colour it's annoying that the TWOC perpertrator inflicted damage, on an Activa, and a rare one at that!

I doubt it will stay at that low price for long but if it does I might just grab it. Can't take much to fix those few problems. I'd guess the immobiliser would be the hardest one.

Sadly the pug boys will easily raise bidding to £400 though im guessing
the real mileage may possibly be 120k which may temper enthusiasm;
if it's genuine theyll be killing themselves to buy it! :(

Wonder if that was the fate that became the red buy it now one! :?:

I fancy a grey Activa - I have a 2.0i VSX ths same colour! Sunroofs are a
big deal for me - I dont get on with cars without them half as much and
am not a big Aircon fan...

But that's no real distance!! I've resigned mysef to travelling about the
place to get the car I want; usually it's either in Kent, Luton or Manchester
so a real grand road trip to get it back to South Wales!! In fact, Coventry
is temptingly close, sunroof or not!! :P

No MOT may put a lot of people off but trailer hire isn't a prohibitive cost!

True, problem is I just don't have the time what with work.

I'd prefer a S2 anyway. Just personal preference

I guess if the right one came up then yes, I would travel for it. Trailer hire is not too bad actually, I did look into it a few months back.

MOT is February, could insure it for a day.

Makes you want to buy Pugs and rip the engines out to make lawnmowers of them

Can't you fellows get cars freighted? Here it's very common; I paid about £140 to move a Spitfire that barely ran, 280 miles.

Hey Addo, there are companies in the UK that will ship cars, and the costs are similar to the charges you mentioned.

Some of them have some very interesting clauses in their contracts, such as: if the car falls off our truck/wagon/trailer/.. we will not be liable for any damage! If anything happens to the car when in our care, its not our responsibility! And they expect you to pay!

I have a distinct reluctance to use these companies.

There've been some horrors here - like the transporters who strapped down an SM by the body - when it started up, this tore its tow points off the chassis!

Mostly though, they are insured and reasonably competent.

I certainly hope this does not get snapped up by Pug idiots

I really like that colour, its very rare on the activa and its actually a very modern colour, grey seems to be the new black now.

Cheap car that, shame about the damage, ill certainly be keeping my eye on that. There can always be underlying issues with these though, it mentions nothing about the hydraulics, if a ram or something is leaking it will be costly :(
