Citroen Synergie tacho problem getting stuck

I have a fault with my instrument cluster.It sometimes gets stuck,when you stop for example it could be on 3000revs and when you start again it starts from there.Any ideas? Bu stangely when you turn the ignition on and off several times it resets it self to zero.

Welcome to the world of Synergie electrics my friend! This is quite fiddly and time consuming to repair but it is possible. When i bought mine the rev counter was the same, and my speedo didnt work at all. They are totally sealed units but there is a way to lubricate the moving parts, which is all i did to mine and its been perfect now for a month, its done 170000 miles too. I can talk you through it if your the patient type and want to have a bash at it!
