C5 Handbrake Cold

Unread post by mooseshaver »

Hello. When the temp drops to -4 in the mornings my handbrake is frozen on. Enough to slow me down as I set off.
Should I worry? I assume it heats up and lets go eventualy. Its fine bye the time I get to work.

You've a split sheath on the cable where it slides through the guide rings. The split is letting water into the cabel and then it's freezing and binding the cable.

Replace the cables ASAP. It's not good to drive off with the handbrake partially on.
