Megane Steering Wheel Bolt

I need to remove the steering wheel from my 1998 Megane. The manual says a new bolt should be used to re fit the steering wheel. Is there a good reason why the old one could not be re used? I'm having trouble getting hold of a new one. Thanks

Hi, I used to work on Renaults, the only thing I can think of from memory is that the bolt has thread lock or lock tite on it, so maybe as long as you put new lock tite on it when refitting you might be ok.
