[Wtd] Full Xantia Options List

Unread post by addo »

Yes, perverse "trainspotting" type curiosity I suppose!

What I'm trying to find, is details of all the various options available (X1 and X2) including images or good descriptions of the connections/controls.

Things have come up from my lurking in this Forum, that were never heard of in Australia - like the Winter Pack, and Traffic Master. What else is there, and where/how is it controlled?

Thanks, Adam.

I think trafficmaster is a UK only thing, I doubt it would work in australlia as you would need the roads to be fitted with the relivant traffic sensor masts on the roadside.

The winter pack was standard on the Exclusive, and optional on the Activa.

It consisted of heated front seats, headlamp washer jets, heated windscreen washer jets, and a washer level indicator.

Traffic Master Oracle was standard on models from LX upwards, and is totally useless outside the UK. I don't think it was available on Mk1 models but I'm sure someone will prove me wrong... :)

PS - there's some interesting stuff here, like the official Xantia bodykit - check the first page of the 2001 brochure:

one item that could be of use...

an early 406 coupe seems to have a trip computer but you can't access it without the correct stalk ! change the stalks and get the computer..

this could be true of series 2 exclusive xantias too.. certainly my 1998 V6 had the stalk but the button was 'sollid', another stalk may have unlocked the computer.. not sure where it would display...

True of S2 models but it was an optional extra on a S1 V6 Exclusive.

True, my S1 V6 exclusive does not have the winter pack. Likewise, it did not have the 10 disk CD changer. I assume that over-mats, leather and cruise control were standard on all V6 Exclusives.

That Finnish brochure scan has some great stuff, but you have to wonder how many colour-coded mudflaps they sold.

I have a couple of vacant sockets in the console harness, that don't seem to relate to the Hydractive system. Any suggestions on what they may have been for? It's not the sunroof one; that's further back.

Blimey! How much heavier would a car be loaded with all this dross.

The only item I could see of any real use was the baguette tray that fitted behind the hatchback rear seats. The fact somebody had put an umbrella in it was beyond me.

Ah, Trafficmaster! When I get the opportunity to dismantle the dash in our MK2, that will be one piece of useless junk to be recycled. Luckily none of our Mk1s is so inflicted, nor the C5.

My C5 has the trafficmaster fitted. I thought I had got done for speeding first time it fired up. I'd had the car for months and it suddenly started shouting ", Trafficmaster, Trafficmaster" at me
Had no idea what trafficmaster was at the time.

I don't know but I do know electric leather seats are incredibly heavy compared to their manual cloth counterparts.

What price comfort? At my age it matters and the weight penalty is worth it to park ones bum on leather.

Yes Jim, but come the summer, when the sun has been shining on the leather for a few hours, the idea of the benefits of leather seats does fade a little. :( :x

That's when you need the AC trunked up under the seat!

Yes, that Finnish site is certainly comprehensive. :)

I suppose seeing that there is something listed for all different markets, then there must be an option on the lists in France for the British market, I.E. net curtains. :)

As there is a winter pack, is there also a  summer pack?
