V-groove or Copper core?

Post by macaroni »

This is about as trivial as you can get and will have no effect on how my car drives...BUT, if I were to buy NGK plugs, which ones would anyone recommend, the V-groove ones or the Copper Core plugs?

Solid-Copper Core:
Produces a more powerful spark with less firing voltage. Some use a copper coated center core.
V-Groove:
Forces the spark to the outer edge of the ground electrode, placing it closer to the air/fuel mixture. This allows the spark to more quickly ignite the mixture, providing more complete combustion.
So i would say V-Groove is the best bet.

Thanks for the reply Muggins. As I say, I suspect I couldn't tell the difference with either of them, but you put forward a good case for the V-groove plugs so I'll try them.
