scenic ecu

hello there, just stumbled on this site, my problem is. i have a 99 v reg 1.6 petrol auto scenic, the electrics have started playing up, no wipers, indicators, and it only just starts then runs rough, ive been told its probably the ecu, i also got told it could be a body control module, which of these items are located under the fuse box? what i thought was the ecu has a row of fuses on the front, im getting confused now with different theories as to what the problem could be, my mate has had it on his scan machine and no faults found, any suggestions would be grateful, thanks in advance

To me it sounds much more like a cable or connector corrosion problem.
The electronics fitted to modern cars are incredibly reliable, but most garages and dealers would love to sell new units as they are - hmmpff - costly - to say the least.
