Hi John. I don't how bad your damage is -- but -- I have made good repairs by stuffing plastic body filler into the area of the leak from both sides and leaving it to dry. Blocking a few square inches of the honeycomb wont cause problems.
I have done that about 5 times down the years, on various cars, and always with 100% success.

will have a look
found a decent link to local ish places now and may whizz over to one tomorrow lunch..
The Rad is for my chevy hence cant really go off to wreckers and grab another.. its already been prone to overheating and I (for once) just want to be sure the cooling system is A1.. getting too many grey hairs these days

Hi active, Tunbridge wells.
have found places as near as creepycrawley, newhaven, chicester even, and a few in Kent.. so ok now..
just hope its not going to cost an arm ...
apparently , you can sever and roll up / crimp bad pipework in the core, I guess there are still other pipes to continue the flow...

Hi John,
Best of luck with sorting it out.
Ok it's maybe not as near, but this company could be used for price comparison.
Here's the link to their ebay shop.

thanks Active
dont worry it's problem 14 of 109 ..
will get it all there in the end ..
John
edit. on the subject of cooling, the heater matrix has been disconnected to allow heating for the LPG vapouriser thingy.. so I will need some help trying to 'tee' the matrix back in soon
any LPG experts out there ?

That does compare well to the £100.00 for the recore one !jgra1 wrote:it isknew it would get me !
offered brand new rad for 137 ...
Is it to the same spec I.E rows and depth etc, in actual fact you could spec the new one to be equipped with more rows or depth, to increase it's cooling capacity slightly so during long hilly climbs up steep mountain passes,or a long journey on the motorway etc it would be even more capable, and efficient, especially during the hot weather of summer !
