Saxo remote fob

A friend of mine has a Y reg Saxo with remote locking.The fob buttons on the pcb are broke,so they have to enter through the boot as the door locks are removed and blanked off
I dont suppose its the same as my previous Xantia where any fob can be programed to car by myself?
The fob is seperate to the key and has a lock and unlock button.
