Xantia leak
Whilst changing the oil and coolant on my car I spotted that the air con compressor was covered in oil. Having a deeper look there seemed to be some on the alternator also - leaking hydraulic pump? Are they expensive / difficult to replace? The car is in good condition but it has just cost me £190 to get it through an MOT and and I am becoming reluctant to keep throwing money at it.Any advice would be appreciated.

If its green and smells like LHM, its possible. Hydraulic pumps dont very often leak though so I would check thoroughly every where else. Wipe it all clean and see where it next appears. If it is the pump they are about £160.00 + vat from GSF but not difficul to fit, but you should be able to get a secondhand one for not to much.

Check the 17mm nut on the pump which has a pipe going into it.
The O-ring underneath can fail causing a leak.
Unbelievably expensive to replace at 70p from a main dealer
