New Xantia and 405 anyone?

Sorry that its been a year in waiting, but when I took a trip down post memory lane I found the above topic and in my post I forgot to point out where you can get hold of the cars from

They're still making the RD as well....who else could make a RWD 405 but the Iranians. Still with a cart sprung rear, at a guess..

Interesting they still make the Xantia. Wonder how may parts are interchangable with our French ones?

One thing they don't mention is the suspension (as far as I could see) and I wonder if it is now riding on conventional springs? If it was hydropneumatic I would have thought they would have made it a selling point

If a RWD cart-sprung 405 can be made and given the Xantia is on the 406 floorpan, a conventionally sprung one does not seem beyond the realms of possibility. But then it's not a real Xantia any more

The 405 RD is a hybrid - the floorpan is a slightly extended Paykan (read Hillman Hunter) one with the 405 body dropped on...or was when i was working over there in the Iran Khodro plant.

They also do the PARS - which looks like a slightly facelifted 406 to me...

Surely the Xantia power output is not correct? 62.5hp @ 5500rpm from the 2.0 16v engine. 162.5 sounds more like it. I would expect it's a typo.

With regard to it using hydropneumatic suspension, take a look at this picture from the site:

Unless it's one of the original Citroen diagrams, it shows the spheres and rest of the hydropneumatic suspension if you look closely.

The english translations are far from perfect 8)
Add to this quite a few typos.
The 37L fuel tank I presume should be either 57 or 67 liters.

It's good to see the Xantia still being made.

Looking at the picture section they show a range of pictures including one of an Activa, 8)
although looking at the specification list they are not making it.

Egyptian branch seems an easy task for me seeing as my wife comes from Maadi, I might pop over there when i go to Cairo in November. I may do some investigating. Should be quite comical if the figures are correct.
