GSF for Ford

Unread post by abc123zz »

Now that my Xantia is dead I need to start fixing my Escort. I can't seem to find the online equivalent of GSF or Euro car parts for Ford though.

Any ideas?

And before you ask, I didn't choose an Escort. It just followed me home.

Sadly, I don't think there is an equivilent for Ford. I searched hard when my son had a Ford and gave up. In truth I found the local Ford Dealer was quick, effective and cheap for all I needed.

That was a few years ago now so things may have changed...

An Escort after a Xantia :? Something of a culture shock in more ways than one I would imagine

I like the convenience of mail order as I live in the middle of nowhere.

The Escort isn't too bad, just a bit agricultural in comparison. Can't get used to being able to drive away straight after starting the engine though.

Yes, I know exactly what you mean. After years of an early TD Xantia waiting for it to pre-heat and then rise I now do precisely the same totally unconciously in every other car I drive. In the Activa I won't even attempt a start until the ABS light has gone off. To my unconcious, it's amber and therefore a diesel pre-heat lamp and not to try to start until it is off.

It used to be the wait for the suspension to rise on my 205GTi that really had my passengers questioning my sanity. I'm cured of that particular trait now...

http://www.buypartsby.co.uk/ do parts for all makes and I think you can phone them for stuff that isn't in the online shop. I find them cheapest by far for brake discs and towbars.

I think Euro Car Parts have expanded to cover all makes but their online shop hasn't followed suit yet.
