Mk2 Xantia Trip Recorders

Unread post by CitroJim »

Am I being silly here :?

I normally track fuel consumption by noting distance covered on the "a" trip recorder. Last time I filled up, I chose to use the "b" recorder.

It seems to be running very much more economically this week :?

Does the "a" recorder measure miles and the "b" record Kilometers by any chance?

Seems very unlikely...

Maybe you just have a bit less lead in your foot this time ?

Hi Jim,

I recently wondered the same thing on my '99 110 Hdi Exclusive estate.

I checked it by zeroing both 'a' and 'b' recorders and monitoring distance travelled using a handheld GPS unit.

Both 'a' and 'b' recorded the same ( in miles) and agreed with the GPS.

The difference in mpg was down to very different types of driving condition (and the liberal use of right foot !).

Rgds.
