Hi All
I am a Citroen virgin and am picking up my 53 plate C5 on Saturday.
It has 61k on the clock and I am guessing it will need a cambelt change quite soon.
Also, as with some other cars, is it wise to get anything else done at the same time eg. on my old Calibra you had to remove the cambelt to replace the water pump so it made sense to do both together.
C5 HDI VTR - When to change Cambelt - Best place to buy kit?

I'm pretty sure the C5 HDi is 100k / 10 years - the handbook will tell you when you get it, but you should have a while before it need concern you. Probably worth changing the water pump at the same time - some will tell you that it should have new tensioners as well, but unless you are going to do mega mileage I wouldn't bother as long as they are still free running and smooth - this is one part that PSA engineerd very well!

My cambelt was done at 94k c5 sx estate 110bhp ,and i would get a complete kit not just a cambelt if a tensioner bearing goes its very expensive,My brother just had his done i think the cambelt kit was around £60 with bearings etc.Its a few hours job theres a lot of covers etc to take off to get to it.
