I believe there are two different sizes - one used before a certain year (1996?) and one used after it, and your car is somewhere near the transition point, so the only safe thing to do would be to measure the ones actually on your car...(unless you dont mind buying several sockets)
Do yourself a favour and buy a cheap vernier caliper - extremely handy for measuring bolts all over the car...

Simon

I cant remember the size, but it will be metric.
Citroen seem to like using odd sizes, such as 11mm, 15mm, and 18mm. These sockets do not allways appear in the cheaper range of socket sets.
Go into a bolt stockest and ask for a pack of m7 bolts and they will tell you that they are not a standard size, and probabally do not stock them, but they are used all over the place on all Citroens.
French eh!!!!!!!

Citroen do use some odd sizes, the bolt on the back of the XUD cam cover springs to mind, but it is a standard bolt (7 mm ??) with the standard pitch thread.slim123 wrote:I cant remember the size, but it will be metric.

When I was sorting out the clutch on my Xantia air con compressor I found that the nut holding the pulley on was not only be an uncommon diameter and thread pitch (although metric) but it also seemed to need an imperial sized spanner to fit it.... thats the americans for you.

The socket is probably 16mm - Citroen seem to like using that one, whereas everyone else uses 17mm on the same size bolts. Try your spark plug spanner - I've got one that's 16mm that has been useful for all sorts of things (BX head bolts, ZX subframe mounts....!) - beyond changing the plugs in a BX14 it was originally bought for!
