The Goodwood is getting tired of being the only car so has decided it needs some TLC.
So I bought this Scénic yesterday (it's the wife's really):

Ah the Scenic - which must have been the only car advertised as having a defective handbrake!

(Wasn't it the one shown running down a mountain to join in the family picnic fun?)

I seem to remember a Scénic advert a few years ago where the car did a lot of donuts etc on the stage of a school play or something to the tune of the Lightning Seeds' It Could Be Marvellous,

Or was that the same one?

Because I need a car not a Conservatory  and Xsara Picasso's look awful.

If the engine is a relative of the 1721cc heron headed OHC unit used in the Renault 21 its probably nearly indestructable - which was just as well as I've never had anything as good at dumping its water!

Gearbox was much the same - but the thing caught fire when the electric fan siezed - cleverly wired on the ignition circuit with a 75 (yes - true and correct - 75) amp fuse. Interesting afternoon with the dash and loom in front of the TV cutting out the burnt bits and soldering in new - and then it ran for about a year before I replaced the fan!

No idea, it's a 1870cc F9Q 734 (dTi) Turbo Diesel engine
I imagine they'll be like the PSA XUDs & just change the head on a very similar block.
AFAIK the dCi lump is the exactly the same but common rail injection.

Car was part of a fleet at one of the clinics I work for, now valeted and sans stickers and sans green flashing light on the roof (sadly).
