i think its F12 if not its C12 but i think C12 is the cold start suplimentery air supply unit, this can be cleaned by removing it and give it a blast with carb cleaner

Def C12, but I doubt if it needs changing! Try removing it and giving it a good clean up using carb cleaner, these things are normally only carboned up and sticking.
Jamie, did you also clean out the hole where it goes? This also gets gummed up, whilst you are under the bonnet with the carb cleaner in hand it is a good idea to take off the inlet from the throttle body (D/E 13) and give the insides of the throttle body a realy good clean, also the pipes (H16, J14, H11) could allways benifit from a clean up through the insides.
i did not mean carbon cleaner what i ment by carb cleaner is carbureter cleaner,as this is a very strong solvent, also i think that C12 is the cold start auxilary air supply valve,in wich case it dose benafit from a good clean with the said carb cleaner, but your prob sounds like an air leak in the induction somewhere, maybe a vaccum pipe,i had very similar simptons with my CX2,5tri AUTO harsh surging at junctions and if i knock it out of gear thje revs would shoot up,i found a vaccum pipe split

what i you are refering to in C12 is the idle control valve, so it idles high? check the connections to the idle control valve too... it's not a sticking throttle cable is it?
well I checked and all seems fine. I'll guess I'll have to take it somewhere when I can find the money. The probs arent really noticable until the car has warmed up.
try spaying carb cleaner all around the inlet manifold and any vaccum pipes and duckting you can find, with the engine running,if it picks up you know thats the point of the vaccum leak
