Our new shape Renault Megane Coupe Cabriolet with the 1.9dCI engine has developed a fault with the folding roof. The Renault dealer cannot find the fault.
The car will be fine, then when you come to opperate the roof it will get stuck, and an error message comes up on the drivers display. It then has to be manually closed.
Has anybody else had problems?

Sounds to me like a fairly common problem. Something like the mechanism not running squarely side-to-side and then sticks because of friction.
Or dry rails. Or a mis-shaped (even broken) spring in the fold roof.
Could even be a faulty motor/geartrain unit.
Anything that will cause an over-limit condition in the drive motor, thus setting the fault display.
Note : its not a computer fault. Its an overload condition from the drive motor that triggers the computer to set the fault display.
Meaning you are left with a fairly "simple" type of problem.
