Water Pumps

Just had a new timing belt and water pump plus ancillary belts. I have just rang the parts supplier who supplied my local garage with necessary bits n bobs to find out the prices of the bits to make sure that a havent been over charged. Apparently there are two water pumps for my model of car which is a 1994 citroen zx 1.4i which was registered on 11/94 one from 91 to 7/94 and another one from 7/94 onwards. the one which was fitted to my car was the earlier one. My question is what would the differences between the earlier type and older type.

All water pumps for the ZX 1.4 are the same from 1991-97. In fact the same pump is still used on the Saxo 1.4!
The pumps that changed on the ZX were the D/TD ones in late 1993.Also the 16/19 petrol in late 1993. Can't find any change at all on the 1.4.

its just that my local parts supplier said there was two typres. by the way its quentin hazel water pump i think.
