Renault Megan - intermitent starting problems

Hi there, have a 99 Megane 1.6 Monaco Conv that has an intermitent starting problem. Have had breakdown people out to it with no joy in finding any fault codes. Can use normally then all of a sudden it will not start, if left for a while it then sometimes starts. Can happen under any conditions. Have been told it may be either the TDC sensor or Ring key sensor

No chance of it being the coil packs then? The Megane range is renowned for it. They start to break up and give all the signs of poor running, starting. Juddery, poor fuel comsumption etc. They give no fault codes and are hard to trace as they only go wrong when they want to. You can test the voltage to or from them or is it resitance. If you try a site serach say under coils or coil packs somethings bound to show up. Just don't transpose anything you hear about the 2.0DCi starting problems on to this engine as it totally different.
