anybody got any idea how cold the air from the dash vents should get on my climate control equiped 406?

Air off the evaporator coil is always 42 - 45 degrees F as it comes into the car.
Temperture is controlled by thermostats and has no bearing on evaporator temp. If the temp is higher than that, chances are you're short of gas or have system problems, & if colder, it'll freeze up on you.
