Xsara remote locking hassle.

Unread post by OzRX4 »

1998 Xsara 1.8i hatch.

I've changed the battery but still the remote isn't functioning.
It is the RF type I am sure, with fold away key.
I'd just like to know where to start looking so I don't spend a whole day trying to fix it if it's totally stuffed.

Any help appreciated,
Chris

Had the same problem with mine.

One of the leads off the transmitting LED had fractured (maybe when the PCB was being put back into the black plastic holder).
Put a blob of solder on it, hey presto, OK!

This worked for a while, but finished up having to solder in a new diode.

Spoke to Citroen today and the parts guy is fairly sure if we take the keys in they can be reprogrammed? Does this sound right as I can only be guided by what I am told.
